Roxbury Project Graduation is an organization of concerned parents, citizens, and community businesses that care about our children.

Each year on the night of graduation, “Project” hosts an all night, alcohol/drug free event for Roxbury’s Graduating High School Seniors. Through the years, Project Graduation has benefited over 4,000 graduates by ensuring their safety at our substance free chaperoned party, and the kids have a great time.

Statistics show that drivers between the ages of 16 and 24 are involved in twice as many fatal car crashes per mile than their elder counterparts. When alcohol is involved, the fatal crash rate is greater for the 16 to 24 year olds. During the months of May and June, more people between the ages of 16 and 20 are injured or killed between the hours of 10:00PM and 4:00AM adding tragedy to the months which mark special events in young people’s lives. High School Graduation is one such event statistically liked to these fatal or debilitating automobile crashes.  This doesn’t have to be the case. It can be prevented through Project Graduation! Project has proven to be an effective means of keeping participating students safe while giving them the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments with each other.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can attend Project Graduation?

Project Graduation is for Roxbury High School graduating seniors only.

Can I drive my own car?

No! Transportation is by bus only to and from the event. Once at the event no one will be able to leave the facility.

Where is check-in?

You will check in at RHS beginning around 9:45 PM on June 22nd. Any student who purchases a ticket and does not check-in at RHS or the event can expect a call to their parents inquiring about their safety.

Who will chaperone the event?

Freshmen, sophomore, and junior parents will chaperone the event. Senior parents can chaperone with their son’s/daughter’s permission only. Underclassmen parents are mistakenly under the impression this event is a concern for senior parents only, when in fact ‘it takes a village’. Senior parents are also very busy the day of graduation and need the support of the underclassmen parents.

How do I buy tickets?

A letter will be sent in  February to all senior families with information about the event and a purchase form. The form is also available on this website. Tickets will be available for purchase up until the buses leave RHS on June 22nd.

You will be able to pick your tickets up in the lunch room the week of June 9th.

Who pays for Project Graduation?

It costs over $25,000 dollars to host Project each year. Funding is raised through ticket sales, fundraising events and donations from community businesses and organizations.

Fundraising this year will include, a Golf Outing in May and the ‘Quack Me Up’ Duck Race at Horseshoe Lake also in May .
